Odometer Correction & Instrument Cluster Programming in Toronto
Replaced your instrument cluster and now it shows the wrong kilometres? Mileage disappeared after a battery or module failure? DashLabz programs, repairs and calibrates instrument clusters for drivers, dealers and repair shops across Toronto and the GTA, so your dash shows the correct mileage for your vehicle.
What our odometer and mileage correction service covers
Replacement and used cluster programming
Most new replacement clusters arrive blank at 0 km, and used clusters carry the mileage of the car they came from. We program the cluster to match your vehicle’s actual mileage and sync it with the car’s other modules so everything lines up.
Mileage not displaying or showing errors
A dead battery, voltage spike or failed module can leave the odometer blank, flashing or showing dashes. We read the mileage stored in the vehicle and restore the correct reading.
Instrument cluster repair
We repair clusters with dead or flickering displays, missing pixels, gauges that stick or sweep incorrectly, backlight failures and clusters that lose communication with the rest of the car.
Kilometre and mile conversion
Bought a vehicle from the U.S.? We can convert the cluster from miles to kilometres where the vehicle supports it, with the correct equivalent reading.
Cluster swaps and retrofits
Upgrading to a digital or higher-spec cluster? We handle coding and mileage matching so the new cluster works like it came from the factory.
Mileage set to your vehicle's true reading
Modern vehicles store mileage in more than one module, such as the cluster, engine computer and body control module. When a cluster is replaced or a module fails, these values can fall out of sync. We read the stored data and set the cluster to the vehicle’s true mileage, backed by your documents (ownership, service records or the reading from the original cluster), so the car, its records and its paperwork all agree.
Vehicles we work on
We regularly program clusters on BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen and Mini, along with many domestic and Asian makes including Ford, GM, Chrysler/Jeep/Ram, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai and Kia. Coverage depends on the year and model, so contact us with your VIN and we’ll confirm before you come in.
How it works
- Call or message us with your year, make, model and VIN, plus a photo of the cluster if possible.
- Bring in the vehicle or the cluster. Some jobs only need the cluster; others need the car so we can sync modules.
- We read, repair or program the cluster using professional diagnostic and programming tools.
- We test everything: mileage, gauges, warning lights and communication with the rest of the vehicle.

Frequently asked questions
How long does odometer or cluster programming take?
Many cluster programming jobs are finished the same day. Repairs that need parts or bench work can take longer, and we will give you a time estimate before we start.
Can you program a used cluster from another car?
Yes. A used cluster can usually be matched to your vehicle and set to its true mileage, as long as it is the correct part for your model. Send us the part number first and we will confirm.
Do I need to bring the whole car?
Not always. Some clusters can be programmed on the bench. Others need the vehicle so the cluster can be synced with the engine and body modules. We will tell you which applies when you call.
What should I bring?
Your vehicle or cluster, your VIN, and proof of the vehicle’s mileage such as your ownership, recent service records or the original cluster.
My odometer went blank after a battery change. Can you fix it?
Usually, yes. In most cases the mileage is still stored in the vehicle’s modules and we can restore it to the cluster.
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on the vehicle and the job. Call 647-292-2246 with your year, make and model for a quote.
